After a long search, the Vernal City Council has approved the hiring of a new City Manager. Quinn Bennion is a native of Vernal that graduated from Uintah High School before going on to school at the University of Kansas. He received a Masters in Public Administration and has worked for 17 years as a City Manager. “He will be great for Vernal,” says retiring Vernal City Manager Ken Bassett. “He and his wife and family made the decision to come back closer to home.” Bennion will start in the post on July 5th. While Bassett is officially retiring the end of June, he has promised to be available in July to work with Bennion and work through anything he needs to be aware of.
