Dry grass and fireworks do not mix. According to Sweetwater County Fire Warden Mike Bournazian, fireworks were the cause of multiple fires on Flaming Gorge and the south Green River on Monday. The Sweetwater County Fire Department, Green River Fire Department and the Rock Springs BLM were on the scene of multiple fires Monday along the west shore of Flaming Gorge and the Buckboard south area. The largest fire was four acres. There was also a fire above the town of Green River that night. Those fires were all contained and out on the 4th, reports Bournazian, but many more fires, between 20 and 25, were started on the 4th in the Rock Springs/Green River area.
