Pieces are being put into place for a Roosevelt City sewer line project to move forward. The Roosevelt City Council approved Jones and DeMille Engineering for the Hancock Cove sewer line project at their last meeting. The City Council reviewed 4 Statements of Qualifications and Jones and DeMill Engineering was the recommendation based on the scored criteria. Council member Albert Foster emphasized that the number that stood out in reviewing the engineering offers was the $400,000 dollar savings with Jones and DeMille. The Council then passed the resolution to approve not more than $2 million taxable dollars in sewer bonds for the sewer system improvements. The council expects costs to be $1.6 million dollars but when bonding, it is standard to approve a higher amount in case unexpected expenses arise during the project.
