Roosevelt City Primary Election

Ballots for the Roosevelt City Primary Election are due today, August 15th, by 8:00pm. The November election will include the race for Mayor and two City Council member seats. The primary election will narrow the candidate pool for the City Council seats as there are five candidates but there can only be two candidates on November’s ballot for each open seat. The bulk of ballots have already been mailed in and the deadline to register to vote has already passed but City Recorder Carolyn Wilcken says registered voters who didn’t get their ballot in the mail in time can come into the City Offices to vote. Bring your ballot if possible and current photo ID with proof of your current Roosevelt City address. “If someone has moved into Roosevelt and are registered to vote they can vote using a provisional ballot while it is verified that they are a current citizen,” shares Wilcken. “Every reasonable opportunity will be given to those who come in to vote.”
