For many patrons, a trip to the Uintah County Library isn’t complete without the chance to say hello to Melinda the Librarian. After 19 plus years of helping see the library in the community grow and flourish, Melinda Barlow is retiring. “It’s just been fabulous, what can I say?” shares Melinda. “It’s been a dream job really. The only downside is you think you’ll get to read all the books on your list but there’s not time for that. I’ve loved the people and especially the kids. It will be hard to say goodbye, but it’s time.” Melinda and her husband Doug have been making plans to leave next March for an LDS mission to serve at Camp Zarahemla in Liberty, Utah but when they received a phone call that they were needed sooner the pair decided it was the right thing for them. Melinda will have her last day at the library this week and the couple will head off on their next adventure onSeptember 6th. The room was packed last week during Melinda’s retirement party that was brimming with love and gratitude for a wonderful lady who helped make the library what it is today.Uintah County Library Celebrates Retiring Librarian Melinda Barlow
