Construction is back in full swing in long stretches on Highway 40 and Utah Highway Patrol has a clear message for drivers: Please Slow Down. According to UHP Sgt. Kellie Oaks, safety is a real issue in construction zones due to drivers speeding and not paying close enough attention. “We almost had a flagger struck near McCoy Flats,” shares Sgt. Oaks. “We are adding a lane there to provide a turn lane…and those construction workers shouldn’t have to be worried about being run over.” Construction zones and workers are visible and clearly marked and it’s up to drivers to drive safe and responsibly. Drivers had a break from active construction zones over Labor Day but now work is back in full swing.
