The launch of Season 2 at Vernal Theatre: LIVE has been a hit so far with three performances of
Music Man
filling seats and winning hearts. Show director Jennifer Curtis says the feedback from the crowd has been overwhelmingly positive. “People have given really kind reviews and our audiences have been full every night so far,” shares Curtis. “We’ve been told over and over how much they enjoy the development of the characters; how it is true storytelling rather than just dramatics.” The cast of 40 community members is diverse but impressive. “It’s been really fun to watch people like Brant Johnson,” says Curtis, “who has had tons of experience have to work really hard at a role and then just be phenomenal at it. At the same time we have people like Andrea Wardle who has never done a show in her life, show up and be just as convincing. Although we have that big of a spectrum in our cast I don’t feel like there is a weak point in the show. It all really stands on its own.” Upgrades to the venue have also upped the experience at the theatre. “The ability we have to set an ambiance in a scene has improved leaps and bounds by having options with the new light bar,” explains Curtis. “We have been able to set the mood and scenes up true to themselves.” The final three performances of
