Vernal City Reviewing Structure and Fees of Business License Permits

by | Nov 10, 2017 | News | 0 comments

Vernal City is reviewing the structure and fees of its business license permits following recent changes to the state statutes governing home occupation businesses and mobile food vendors. According to a Vernal City press release, the last time Vernal City reviewed the business license fees was 19 years ago. The most significant proposed change relates to home occupation businesses that will now be classified into minor and major home occupation businesses. A minor home business will not be required to obtain a business license. Some businesses will see a decrease in fees while most businesses will see an increase but even with the changes, the fees will remain among the lowest in the Uintah Basin and the State of Utah. The proposed business license structure will be reviewed by the City Council during their meeting
on Wednesday, November 15th at 7pm
. Business owners and managers will receive renewal letters in late November.
