In the fall of 2018, the students of Union High School will be transferring to a brand new building across the street.  According to Superintendent David Brotherson, the capacity of the school is 1,600 students, doubling the amount of students compared to the old high school. The building incorporates energy efficient construction. Natural light will be utilized by reflecting sunlight, therefore, classrooms with no windows can still have light provided by the sun, lowering the electric bill. The school will also be much quieter with wider and more hallways. This will allow students to travel much easier from class to class. The Career and Technical Education department has their very own wing. This will allow them to complete projects more easily and efficiently. The FFA  classroom includes a large door which allows animals to be brought in. Another addition is a paint booth that will allow students to easily paint their projects. With these new classrooms and amenities, students will be able to gain a better education with hands on learning in these fields. The new Union High School will also fix one of Union High School’s biggest problems, parking. The new high school has 1100 new parking stalls.
