Uintah County Commission Adopts 2018 Budget

The Uintah County Commission adopted the 2018 budget for Uintah County during their Monday meeting. Clerk/Auditor Mike Wilkins made the presentation of the 2018 budget which totalled $78,862,600 dollars, a reduction from the 2017 budget by nearly $2.3 million dollars. The additional revenues brought in through increased contracts at the Public Safety Complex were broke down with revenues from state inmates increasing from $1.6 to $2.3 million dollars and additional revenues from Salt Lake County inmates from zero to $455,000 dollars. Commissioner Stringer emphasized that as 2017 nears an end, the Commission has adopted a lower tax rate and also reduced spending that amounts to a carry over into the next year. Wilkins confirmed the statement explaining that there is about $2.1 million dollars of additional revenues to carry over between the General Fund and the Municipal Service Fund.
