Roosevelt Rocks! And the city has the actual rocks to prove it! About a year ago, Roosevelt citizen Sheri Poulson, inspired by painted rocks she had seen in Texas, decided to start a rock painting and hiding group in the Roosevelt area. The Roosevelt Rocks Facebook page was created and members quickly flocked to join. Now, with over 750 members, the game of painting, hiding, and finding rocks has spread across the community and continues even as the chilly winter is underway. Members of the Roosevelt Rocks group attended last week’s Roosevelt City Council meeting with an invitation to the Mayor and council to join the fun. A quilt rock was presented to the Mayor and kids gave painted rocks to each of the council members. The council was excited to be included in the fun and thanked the group for promoting a family friendly activity for the community.
