2017 held unique challenges for Daggett County and County Commissioners Slaugh, Lytle, and Asay offered their perspective moving forward in the County’s latest newsletter. “We are challenged with the financial fallout of the Jail closing,” shared the Commissioners. “The financial responsibilities as a result of an empty jail will be felt for the foreseeable future. We are working toward the decision of repurposing the jail facility in the event we are unable to maintain it as a correctional facility.” With that in mind, the Commissioners are hoping to make 2018 a turnaround year. “We look forward to the new year knowing we have some belt tightening on the horizon,” shared the Commissioners, who expressed gratitude for the public’s confidence.
