The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy was such a success in the Fall that a spring course is now scheduled. The Sheriff’s Office explains that this program is for residents who want to learn more about the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement. It is free and has classroom sessions as well as hands-on experiences and exercises all taught by experienced deputies and instructors. “Given our commitment to the community and proactive problem-solving, we see the Citizens Academy as an effective way of bringing law enforcement and the public together in an informal, educational forum,” shares Sheriff David Boren. “The benefits of such a partnership can only help strengthen the entire community in terms of public safety and quality of life.” All applicants must be at least 21 years old and a background check will be performed on all participants. Applications can be downloaded on
www.duchesne.utah.gov
or picked up at the front desk of the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office.
