Utah Valley University was a hub of energy and competition this weekend for the state drill team championships. Basin teams competed well with Tabiona placing 3rd in the 1A championship and Union placing 5th in the 3A championship. Uintah was up against tough 4A competition and while they did not land a top 5 finish, they did take 2nd in the Military category and swept the drill down competition. The big local story, however, is that the Duchesne Lady Eagles have done it again. They are state champions for the 15th year in a row, this year in 2A competition. Congratulations to the Duchesne Lady Eagles Drill Team on their continued success representing the Basin so well.
