All Invited to Make Valentines for ‘Cards for Kids @ Heart’ Project

It’s time again to spread some Valentine’s Day love to local seniors with homemade cards through the ‘Cards for Kids @ Heart’ project. The project was organized by KLCY’s morning show host Amy Richards in loving memory of her Grandma several years ago. “The last thing I received from [my Grandma] was a handwritten card,” shares Amy. “I never had a chance to send her one back before she passed, and I know in my heart she would have loved one from me.” With that fire in her and full of love for the seniors in her life, Amy gathered a team of helpers to make and gather homemade Valentines cards to be delivered to the seniors in the Uintah Basin. The tradition continues as an annual event with Utah Highway Patrol and Meals on Wheels helping with deliveries. Card drop boxes are at the Vernal and Roosevelt McDonalds as well as the KLCY Studio on North Vernal Avenue. This year there is also a donation box at the Family Dollar in Roosevelt where donations can be made for LED roses to be included in the deliveries. More cards are needed and all are invited to help with this special cause. The cards need to be dropped off by this Sunday.
