Rocky Mountain Power is the latest to alert customers that scammers are targeting citizens under their name. The scam is asking customers to call and provide account information and an immediate payment and countless people in the region are being affected. Nearly every day in February, customers reported receiving fraudulent calls from scammers posing as utility representatives, shares Rocky Mountain Power. Scammers are claiming to be with the “Rocky Mountain Power Disconnection Department” but no such department exists. If the caller asks for your credit card number or for a prepaid card from a store, do not give it to them. Rocky Mountain Power says their employees do not handle payments directly. Rocky Mountain Power also advises their customers that they will never make threats of discontinuation without immediate payment, especially if you have never received prior notice about there being an issue. If you receive a call from a scammer or feel a call was suspicious, call Rocky Mountain Power at
