In its 14th year, the Storytelling Festival hosted annually by the Uintah Schools Foundation is considered a treasured event by many locals. Thursday night the Vernal Middle School Auditorium filled with families, some who come every year and some trying the festival out for the first time. “Every year the storytelling festival stirs the stories we all have within us,” shares Uintah High English teacher and event coordinator Aaryn Birchell. “It makes me want to gather my family together as we connect with stories that come from all over the world.” This week has been especially exciting because one of the storytellers is a hot commodity. “This year we have one of the BEST in the world with Donald Davis,” explains Birchell. “We booked him over three years ago. That is how popular he is! The world wants his stories but last night and tonight, Vernal gets to hear the stories that warm our heart and make us laugh and feel the humanity that brings us all together.” Donald Davis, Amber Richardson, and Linda Gorham will perform again tonight at the Vernal Middle School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 with the show at 7:00. Tickets are available at Davis Food & Drug or at the door.
