TriCounty Health Department has shared their 2017 annual report. A glance at the numbers paints a picture of the many ways TriCounty Health has served the community. In 2017, they served 1,300 WIC clients, issued 111 on-site wastewater permits, performed 61 cancer screenings, issued 2,063 birth certificates and 548 death certificates, performed 37 public pool inspections, gave 4,735 immunizations, performed 81 complaint investigations, gave 244 TB tests and 38 STD tests, among other services. ‘Serving For Health’ was adopted as the health department’s new vision in 2017. “We are obliged by state statute to ensure that our services improve health,” shares TriCounty Director Jordan Mathis, “but we also feel a moral obligation as public servants and public health professionals, paid with public funds, to make sure the work that we do is viewed as a service that improves the health and quality of life of those who we are called to serve.” Visit
