Spring is here and Ashley National Forest is opening more areas to those
eager to get into nature. Areas now dry enough to open include Massey
Canyon Road 31, Whiterocks Canyon Road 492, and Elkhorn Road 117 to Chepeta
and Pole Creek. Other areas open for camping include Uinta, Yellowstone,
Moonlake, Yellowpine, Dripping Springs, Willows, Sheep Creek Bay and many
lower elevation roads around Flaming Gorge are open to dispersed camping.
Some areas that remain closed for now are Taylor Mountain Road 44, Red
Cloud Loop Road 18, White Cloud Loop Road 20, Paradise Road 104, and areas
along Highway 191 that aren’t gated such as Range Study, Diamond Mountain,
Basset Springs, and Greens Draw. As areas dry out more roads will be
opened.
