A Sweetwater County woman was seriously injured on Saturday in an ATV crash in the area west of Green River. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell, a deputy and her K9 were dispatched in the afternoon to the Telephone Canyon area on a report of an all-terrain vehicle mishap. The 2011 Polaris ATV was found tipped on its passenger side on a two-track road. Michael and Sharon Coates, the ATV driver and his wife, were picked up by family members and transported to the hospital in Rock Springs. Sharon Coates was flown to a Wasatch Front hospital for a serious injury to one hand. The Sheriff’s Office investigation continues and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
