The trial for Jerry Neal Flatlip, Randall Flatlip, and Larson Rondeau who are charged with raping a young Uintah County girl in 2016 are underway in Salt Lake County’s 3rd District Court. The trial began on May 2nd with selection of the jury. Opening statements and questioning got underway on Thursday, May 3rd, and into Friday, including the testimony of the victim. The rape of the 9-year-old girl was reported to deputies on March 29th, 2016. The child was sleeping on the couch of a Uintah County residence while her mother went into the garage of the home and was smoking methamphetamine. The child told investigators that during that time she was taken into another room in the home where she was raped by the group of men.The trial for Flatlip, Flatlip, and Rondeau resumed on Monday and is scheduled to run through the week.
