Current Duchesne County Commissioner Ron Winterton visited the KVEL studio this week for an interview on the Meet the Candidate Forum. Winterton is running for the Senate District 26 seat currently held by Senator Kevin Van Tassell. His campaign information can be found at

On his website, Winterton says he understands that District 26 is very diverse and he will be a valuable partner to the communities in the district as they work on their individual economic developments. The Meet the Candidate Forum started on May 7th and is being held select mornings from 8 to 9am broadcast on News Talk KVEL 104.5 FM and 920 AM. Upcoming interviews include Christine Watkins for House District 69 and Steve Labrum for Uintah County Sheriff on Thursday, June 7th, Brian Gorum and Pat Vaughn, both for Senate District 26, on Friday, June 8th, and Eileen Gallagher for Senate District 26 on Monday, June 11th. Interviews will be rebroadcast weekday mornings from 8 to 9am through June 19th.
