A total of six homes were evacuated in Talmage on Thursday as fire crews battled a new wildfire in the area. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, the Twin Fire began near 25000 West and 4000 North in Talmage in the mid afternoon. Local fire departments responded and were supplemented by resources from the Dollar Ridge Fire. The Sheriff’s Office reported
around 6pm
that the combination air and ground attack was working well and bulldozers were working with firefighters on the ground to build a solid containment line. By
8:30pm
, all the residents that had been forced out of their homes were allowed to return thanks to the solid work from firefighters. No homes were damaged in the fire. The area around 25000 West and 4000 North is closed to the public so firefighters can continue their work. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
