Work is progressing on the 800 South project in Roosevelt City. According to Roosevelt City, construction is on schedule and the water and sewer lines are complete. The project stretches from 500 East to State Street on 800 South. The first phase of construction includes the installation of water and sewer lines as well as storm drainage. The 8-inch water main has been installed as well as an 8-inch sewer line and crews are now installing lateral lines to the properties along the roadway. “People need to be aware that part of the road is still closed to the public,” shares Rex Huber of Hube’s Construction. “It’s local traffic only. Things will still be pretty torn up down there for a while.” Crews are currently accessing utility lines along 200 East making for slow traffic in the area. Once the water, sewer, and storm drains are complete, the project will enter phase two which includes sidewalk, curb, gutter, and widening the roadway. “These improvements will significantly improve the quality of life for city residents along 800 South, as well as the safety of pedestrians and drivers who use the road for access to Centennial Elementary,” shares Roosevelt City. The City expressed their appreciation for the patience of residents as work continues on the project.
