Changes big and small are happening in Vernal, all in an effort to bring new life to the historic downtown area. Dinosaur themed blade signs for downtown businesses are the latest focus of the Downtown Revitalization Committee. The blade signs are pedestrian scale that will be installed perpendicular to the face of each building in order to be easily read by pedestrians. “The blade signs add to the quaintness of the historical downtown buildings,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “A local manufacturer will produce the signs.” Modifications to the Vernal City sign ordinance allow and encourage the use of the blade signs and the City is even waiving the permit fee for signs within the downtown commercial district.
