The Utah Department of Workforce Services has updated county unemployment numbers for the state. Daggett County ticked down from 4.8 to 4.7 percent unemployment. Duchesne County shifted up slightly from 4.8 to 4.9 percent while Uintah County stayed the same at 4.9 percent. Twenty counties in Utah have lower unemployment rates than Uintah Basin counties with Cache County sitting at the lowest at 2.8 percent. Five counties in Utah have higher rates than Uintah Basin counties with Garfield County at the highest at 7.2 percent. Utah’s unemployment as a whole stayed the same at 3.1 percent while national unemployment is 3.9 percent. Utah remains ranked as number 1 for total job growth in the United States and is also ranked number 3 for private sector job growth.
