UBTech announced their 2018-2019 Student of the Year at a special awards banquet
on Thursday night
held at the UBTech Roosevelt Campus. McKinlee Thacker is a student in the Automotive Maintenance, Light Repair, and Welding programs of UBTech and was named the new Student of the Year, replacing 2017-2018 Student of the Year Faith Burk. McKinlee’s goal is to one day own her own autobody shop. The other student finalists were recognized and given personalized awards including the Persistent award to Surgical Technician student Sabreena Givens, the Resilient award to POST student Joshua Brown, the Radiant award to Office Professional student Kathy Hill, the Courageous award to Welding student Baldo Naverrete, the Selfless award to Medical Assistant student Brayan Castro, the Compassion award to Pharmacy Technician student Sierra Bushman, and the Determined award to Welding student Taylor Wiseman.
