It was another successful year for Shop With A Cop in Roosevelt over the weekend. Roosevelt City Police Department shared that there were about 75 children who participated this year. “Special thanks to all the volunteers and those who donated time and money to support those who need a little help at this time of year,” shares Roosevelt City Police Department. “Stewarts Ace hosted the event and did a fantastic job. Crescent Point provided a generous donation and our elf present wrappers were from Children’s Justice Friends Board, Newfield, and many others willing to come out early and help with the event.” Shop With a Cop first came to Utah in 1990 as a program through K-Mart. In 2003, K-Mart discontinued the event after corporate reorganization and the Salt Lake Police Department took the steps to see it continue. The goodwill fostered between kids and officers inspired other agencies throughout Utah to participate and hold or continue their own Shop With a Cop events.
