Uintah Basin Healthcare Looking for Knitters

by | Jan 16, 2019 | News | 0 comments

All those with big hearts and knitting needles your skills are needed. Uintah Basin Healthcare, through their volunteer services, are looking for knitted and crocheted red hats for newborns. The event is called “Little Hats, Big Hearts™” and is a focus for heart health. The American Heart Association and the Children’s Heart Foundation have teamed up with Uintah Basin Healthcare to gather as many little red hats as they can
until February 1, 2019
. Throughout February hats will be given to mothers for newborns to “remind and empower moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their children do the same.” By teaming together they hope to raise awareness, provide resources, and inspire moms to take their family’s heart health seriously while raising awareness about Congenital Heart Defects. Those making a hat should use RED medium or heavy weight acrylic or cotton yarn. The hat pattern is on the AHA website. Since the hats are for preemie or newborn infants, sizes should be from micro-preemie up to toddler size. Deliver your hats to Uintah Basin Healthcare.
