At a recent Roosevelt City Council meeting, the recipients of the 2018 Extra Mile Day Awards were honored. The two individuals who received the awards were nominated by the community and then were selected by the council. The first award was given to Tara Maylett. “Tara serves our community daily,” wrote the community member who nominated her. “She is always helping out other community members who are in need. She goes out of her way to make sure that those in need get extra assistance with family members and children. She is highly involved in the Baptist church and serves the youth in that capacity as well. I think she is a pretty amazing person who devotes her life to serving others . . . and I know she does more than I am even aware of.” Maigen Zobell was the recipient of the second award. “Maigen is an amazing icon in the community,” her nomination stated. “She makes sure to keep the UBH calendar full of community outreach projects and amazing things for the whole community. She volunteers with each of her children at their schools and is always a bright, cheery partner whenever you need someone to come alongside of you and help you get the word out. She is a treasure beyond measure.” Roosevelt City and the Uintah Basin congratulate these truly awe inspiring ladies and thank them for their service.
