The Uintah Basin has some great options for stargazing and Dinosaur National Monument has made the following suggestions of events worth looking up in the sky to see. There is a chance to catch a comet tonight, May 5th, and tomorrow. It can be seen with binoculars or a small telescope low on the northwestern horizon in the evening sky. The bright moon will block out spring constellations, so try to catch them at the beginning or end of the month. Leo, Virgo, Cancer, Gemini, and Libra (with Hydra and Monoceros) will be on display. A total lunar eclipse will be visible from our area on May 15th with the moon being red for some time between 9:30 and 11:30pm.
