In an effort to understand what our community needs, TriCounty Health recently asked the public to complete a survey that gathered information on various health issues locals have observed. Anna Dillingham from the health department presented the survey findings during last week’s Vernal Chamber luncheon. The findings showed the most significant health issues according to the community are Mental Health at 67%, Drugs & Alcohol Use and Misuse at 44%, Cancer at 32%, and Obesity & Related Conditions at 30%. The greatest strengths of the community the survey said are: Parks & Recreation, access to the outdoors, strong social connections, family life, clean environment, and low crime/safe neighborhoods. The survey has shown consistently throughout the state that mental health is the issue of biggest concern to Utahns.
