A second annual fundraising golf tournament will be held this summer in the founder’s hometown of Riverton Wyoming but will still benefit some Uintah Basin locals. The non-profit organization, Dreams in Motion, honor transplant recipients. The Dreams in Motion organization is the creation of transplant survivor Bruce Tippets and co-founder Joel Brown. “This is my small way to celebrate the magic of life, and to bring joy to deserving people who are regaining an ability to live independently,” shared Tippets in a press release. The 2nd year of this event will benefit four heroes, two of which are from the Uintah Basin. Roosevelt elementary principal Rick Nielsen, who is battling cancer, was honored with an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to watch the Denver Broncos/Los Vegas Raiders game in December. It was his first in-person NFL game. The second recipient is 12-year-old Vernal resident Syrus McMickell, who is on the kidney transplant list. McMickell will be honored with an all-expenses paid trip to see the Los Angeles Angels play two games in person on May 6th and 7th.
