Uintah School District has named Christine Whetton as its 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year. Whetton teaches physical education at Uintah Middle School and has worked in education for 26 years. She was the recipient of the 2017 Utah Department of Health Active Schools Award, was named the Utah State Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2004 and 2016 and was recognized with the Uintah Schools Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. One student’s mother highlighted how much Christine goes beyond the norms, including teaching students how to safely ride a bike.
