Plans are moving forward for changes to the Zions Bank block downtown. Mayor Hammond and Vernal City Council recently took time to review the concept design plans for the planned improvements and gave feedback. “The public improvements include walkways, patios behind the commercial buildings and the public parking lot. The parking lot will include approximately 100 parking stalls in addition to the private stalls provided by Zions bank and the former Oak House building. The public parking lot will be owned and maintained by Vernal City. It is anticipated that the adjacent property owners will contribute toward a portion of the maintenance cost through a Special Assessment Area.” The parking lot and walkways construction will happen this summer.
