The Utah Department of Transportation released the list of most impactful projects for 2022, including ones in the Uintah Basin. According to their announcement, a major project for the Uintah Basin is construction that will start this spring on approximately 30 miles of Highway 40 between Soldier Creek (near Strawberry Reservoir) and Duchesne. “Work will include crack sealing, asphalt repairs, the placement of a new road surface, and road sign updates, designed to improve the ride for drivers and extend the life of the road surface.” The $5.5 million dollar project is expected to be complete during the summer. UDOT has 175 construction projects planned statewide for 2022 that add up to a combined value of $2.5 billion dollars. The announcement shares that the projects are focused on meeting current and future transportation needs here in Utah while keeping existing roads, bridges, sidewalks and trails in good condition.
