There’s a lot of aspects to the revitalization efforts taking place in downtown Vernal. One area that will get a major facelift is some property on 100 East. According to an update from Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion, the City Council has entered into a purchase contract for the property on 100 East from Main Street to 100 South. “The old laundry building, car storage lot and mechanic shop will be cleared after environmental review and property closing – in approximately four months,” shares Bennion. “The purchase amount is at fair market value as determined by a third party commercial appraiser. The back portion of the property will be used for public parking. The property along 100 East will be sold to a developer for commercial or mixed use development to further the downtown plan.” If interested in joining the Downtown Vernal Alliance, email vernaldt@gmail.com.
