If ever there was a weekend to get off the couch and have an adventure, this is it! The 4th annual Outlaw’s Lost Treasure Hunt kicks off this morning at 9am at the hunt headquarters located at about 50 South 50 East in Vernal. The treasure hunt is organized locally and the prize for the winning team is $10,000 dollars. Something unique this year is that hunters will be solving clues leading them to find a key that will open the treasure chest chained to a table at the hunt headquarters. Quinn Bennion, one of the hunt organizers, says this treasure hunt is unique. “It’s right in Vernal with a lot of downtown elements,” shares Bennion. “We try to incorporate our great history of Vernal, including the Outlaws, and features around the community so you have to integrate them into your solves…Nothing you need to go find physically is outside a 20 mile radius.” There is no cost and there is no limit on the team size. You can do it solo but it is very helpful to have a team working on the puzzles. There are multiple puzzles and multiple answers so you do have to register to get working on it. Every year the treasure has been found by Saturday evening. The hunt is guaranteed to be complete this weekend.
