UBTech is the recipient of yet another generous donation, this time to upgrade their Health Simulation Education Center. UBTech announced in a recent press release that mid-stream gas company Andeavor Logistics has made a $40,000 dollar gift to the school that will be used to purchase simulation equipment to give students hands-on practice in both emergency and non-emergency medically-related situations. According to the press release, Andeavor made the donation with the intention of providing opportunities to benefit the community at large. Andeavor right-of-way specialist Jeremy Catron explains that because about 90 percent of students in healthcare programs at UBTech end up working locally, officials knew that funding for the simulation lab could literally impact nearly all residents within the Uintah Basin. “We couldn’t ask for a better community partner,” shares Andeavor public affairs manager Brad Shafer. “UBTech is a key stakeholder providing excellent education and professional training opportunities for the residents of the Uintah Basin. We are proud to partner with them and help their mission expand.” On behalf of UBTech and the board of trustees, UBTech President Aaron Weight has thanked Andeavor Logistics saying their donation will have an impact for generations.
