The 2026 UBTech Champion Award was awarded to Marcia Barber at last week’s President’s Champion Gala event. Marcia served 12 years from 2007 to 2019 on the UBTech Board of Trustees as the Daggett County School District representative. She was also instrumental in providing new beginnings for many in establishing the prison building trades program at the Daggett County Jail while it was still in operation. Also announced at the President’s Champion Gala event last week, posthumous honoree Raymond Murray was named a UBTech Champion of Education. Raymond served on the UBTech Board of Trustees for 15 years. He is credited as playing a key role in restructuring the former Todd Elementary School and West Middle School into what is now Eagle View Elementary. JoAnn Murray was present to accept the award on her late husband’s behalf. Also during the event, Mark Stewart and Jackie and Bill Wright were honored with the 2026 UBTech Way Awards for their service in the community.
