Angler Dies After Falling Through Ice At Steinaker Reservoir

Extreme caution is urged when out on the ice after a tragedy occurred over the weekend. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 9:14 a.m. on February 19th, emergency crews were dispatched to Steinaker Reservoir on the report of a man who fell through the ice while fishing.

It was a great day of fun and competition at the Special Olympics Snowshoe Invitational held over the weekend. The Uintah Dinos were prepared and competed well. A special element this year was that Shane Murray attended, not as an athlete, but instead as the new assistant coach to the team.

A unique traveling art exhibit opens this week at the Duchesne Branch Library and every piece of work is from talented kids. “Each fall and spring the Duchesne Branch welcomes and sponsors a traveling art exhibit that is curated by the Utah Department of Arts and Museums,” shares Duchesne County Library Director Daniel Mauchley.
