Naples City Fireworks Shows Consolidated To One Event
Rather than have 2 fireworks shows in a year, Naples City has decided to just host one large fireworks show each July. This means the New Year’s Eve fireworks that started in 2017 will not be happening this year and the resources will all be focused on the 24th of July celebration.

Myton Woman Named 2021 USO Service Member Of The Year
Army Sgt. Breanna J. Jessop of Myton has been named the 2021 USO Service Member of the Year for her amazing role in the evacuation operations in Afghanistan last summer. Every year there is only one service member named from each branch of the military and Sgt. Jessop is that representative for the Army for 2021.
Ute Indian Tribe To Proceed With Lawsuit Over Land In Eastern Utah
The Ute Indian Tribe’s focus remains on the remaining claims in their lawsuit against the United States concerning land in eastern Utah as well as reparations. On December 16th, U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols granted the Federal Defendants motion to dismiss on 3 counts but denied the motion on the 5th and final count.

As of Thursday, December 23rd, TriCounty Health Department reported 9,151 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area to date. As of that report, there had been 1 new COVID-19 related death in the previous 7 days and 6 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations.
