A favorite holiday display is already deep in the planning stages and a theme has been announced. Every year, the Moon family of Jensen creates a massive gingerbread display based on a book or book series that is then set up through the Christmas holiday at the Roosevelt Branch Library. This year the theme of the display is ‘T’was the Night Before Christmas’ but with a twist. “There has been about a hundred different versions of the classic poem made into books including Cowboy T’was the Night Before Christmas, Cajun T’was the Night Before Christmas, and Die Hard T’was the Night Before Christmas,” shares the Moon Gingerbread Creations announcement. “So we are going to take the original poem and divide it into 14 scenes. The first scene of the display will be the opening scene of the original poem. Each of the eleven scenes after that will be from a different book but will go chronologically through the story.” The next few months in the Moon residence will consist of meticulous planning of the scenes, massive batches of gingerbread, and homemade candy and edible artwork.
