The USU Ozone Alert Program has launched for the winter 2020 – 2021 season. The program issues alerts when ozone in excess of the United States EPA standard of 70 parts per billion is predicted anywhere in the Uinta Basin, when a high ozone episode ends or is predicted to end, and when conditions change significantly from earlier predictions.

Police Warn Public to Watch for Man Considered Armed and Dangerous
South Salt Lake Police Department is warning Utah residents to be on the lookout for a man known to visit the Uintah Basin and considered armed and dangerous. “On December 4th, at approximately 6:30am, at the Maverick gas station at 3260 South West Temple in South Salt Lake City, a 28 year old victim was shot in the face,” shares the police department.

Adjustments Made to Recommended COVID-19 Quarantine Time
It was announced on December 4th that according to new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the Utah Department of Health and TriCounty Health Department have reduced the 14-day quarantine period for anyone exposed to COVID-19.
Uintah Basin Healthcare Employees Give to The Villa Team
Times have been trying for everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic but perhaps more so for healthcare professionals. Of those healthcare workers, those taking care of the elderly have been especially strained. Locally, Uintah Basin Healthcare recognized the efforts of those that are working in the Villa.
New Hours for TriCounty Health Department
In a press release, the TriCounty Health Department has announced a department change to the operation hours. Starting December 28th, 2020 TriCounty Health will open Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 5:30pm and then Friday 8am to 5pm.
