Nicknamed ‘Dancin’ Joonie’, Pyper passed away at 9 months old, leaving a hole in many hearts but out of those wounds Pyper has inspired something very special.

Flaming Gorge Fire Hole Canyon Swim Beach Under Advisory for HAB

The Flaming Gorge Fire Hole Canyon Swim Beach is under advisory by the Wyoming Department of Health and Department of Environmental Quality after harmful cyanobacterial blooms were identified in the waterbody. Satellite imagery from the Cyanobacteria Assessment Network identified the potential bloom last week and the Department of Environmental Quality collected samples on September 12th.

TriCounty Health on Vaping in TriCounty District

TriCounty Health Department has the latest numbers on the lung illness outbreak linked to vaping. TriCounty Health Promotion Director Jacob Isaacson shared with Evans Family Media on the KVEL Newstalk Monday Forum that the youth vaping rate in the TriCounty Health District is around 13.5 percent while the youth smoking rate is around 5.9 percent.

Uintah Recreation District will be having their “Better Half Marathon” on Saturday. It is a run of 13.1 miles of scenic Dry Fork Canyon. Designed to be a pleasant downhill course it will also feature aid stations of fruit, water or Gatorade every other mile starting at mile 3. For those that complete this half marathon there is a finishers medal in your future, as well as awards for different age groups.

Craig Press reports that Craig Fire and Rescue responded to a grassfire on Tuesday that spread quickly because of high winds, just 10 miles northwest of town. Although Craig received significant rain recently, the northwest area of Craig didn’t get any so conditions are dry and arid.
