Energy country is celebrating the EPA’s latest announcement that proposes to repeal the Obama administration’s “Clean Power Plan”. EPA administrator Scott Pruitt issued the notice which determined that the plan’s regulations exceed the EPA’s statutory authority.

Ute Tribe on Tenth Circuit Court Decision Regarding BLM Fracking Rules
The Ute Tribe issued a press release regarding the September 21st Tenth Circuit court decision to dismiss Wyoming v. United States. Because the United States already published its intent to repeal costly fracking rules published in 2015, the Tenth Circuit court followed by dismissing the appeals and suit related to those rules.

Federal Funding the Key for Plans to Improve Highway Between Rifle and Craig
Colorado’s Highway 13 may be getting some major upgrades if federal funding comes through at the request of the Colorado Department of Transportation. CDOT has applied for $21 million dollars in federal funding that would be added to $60 million dollars from the state to see major safety upgrades complete on the stretch of road that runs north from Rifle, through Meeker and up to Craig and beyond.

Department of Interior Hitting Energy Dominance Goals
Less regulations and a push to promote America’s energy dominance by the Department of the Interior are hoped to have a positive effect on rural economies. A report from the Department of the Interior shows that seven BLM state offices generated $170.7 million dollars in bonus bids during their third quarter oil and gas lease sales, with over 134,000 acres actually sold.

There’s been an adjustment to the schedule of releases from the Flaming Gorge Dam. According to Hydraulic Engineer Heather Patno, the Bureau of Reclamation encountered some unexpected issues during the annual maintenance of the generation units at Flaming Gorge Dam resulting in only one unit available beginning Tuesday, October 10th.
