Uintah Basin High School Rodeo Hosting Clubs at Western Park

It’s going to be a full weekend of high school rodeo with young competitors coming from all around the state of Utah. Western Park Facilities Manager Derk Hatch says the event is highly anticipated as one of the largest high school rodeos in the state bringing between 2,500 to 3,000 people to Vernal for the event.

Vernal City Backhoe Purchase

Vernal City Council approved a purchase request from the Water Department of  a replacement backhoe during their most recent city council meeting. Water Superintendent Mike Davis made the request stating that he was able to get more competitive prices than offered through the state contract.

They’ve done it again! The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce walked away from the State Chamber Conference with significant awards under their belt. The conference, held last week in Cedar City, hosted 30 Chambers from throughout the state of Utah. The Vernal Chamber won two awards.

Walleye Classic and Starvation State Park Family Fun Day

In typical fashion, Duchesne County has taken an already successful event and found a way to include all ages and interests. It all started over two decades ago with what is now the longest running fishing tournament in the state of Utah, the Walleye Classic at Starvation State Park.
