Alcohol was a factor in a head on fatal crash on I-70 Sunday night caused by a Roosevelt woman. According to the Colorado State Patrol, 57-year-old Sarah Hartman was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-70 when her Ford Taurus hit head-on with a Chevy Impala driven by a Fruita woman near mile marker 38.

Dry grass and fireworks do not mix. According to Sweetwater County Fire Warden Mike Bournazian, fireworks were the cause of multiple fires on Flaming Gorge and the south Green River on Monday.

Roosevelt Couple Arrested for Stealing and Selling Stolen Antiques

According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Travis Kirk Cook and 29-year-old Shalae Jensen Cook are facing charges after detectives searched their home and located a cache of stolen antiques and memorabilia.

Shooting Incident in Craig
A shooting incident took place on Yampa Avenue in Craig on Monday morning. According to Craig Police, a person was shot at while in a vehicle at the intersection of Yampa and 8th. The victim encountered 38-year-old Anthony Montano in another vehicle and Montano pulled a gun out and shot at the victim.

Stranded Boaters Found Safe on Flaming Gorge
A stranded party of boaters are safe after spending a night on the shore of Flaming Gorge. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted at about 10:45pm Sunday night by a Colorado woman in the area of Big Firehole.
