Legislative Update: HB 217

The 2017 Utah legislature is well underway and local Representatives are hard at work. HB 217, sponsored by Representative Scott Chew, will be on the floor of the House this week and deals with Livestock Harassment.

Coal Production Predicted to Rise in 2017

The Energy Information Administration has positive news for communities built on the coal industry. According to a recent report, production is predicted to increase this year by 3 percent as a result of an ever increasing demand for electricity from coal fired power plants.

Armed Moffat County Man Shot by Law Enforcement

An armed Moffat County man was shot by Sheriff’s deputies after pointing his weapon at them. According to the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement received a report of a man with a gun on Sunday morning in Saguache County.

Pursuit Ends at Maeser Cemetery

A police chase ending at the Maeser Cemetery on Thursday was brought to a safe conclusion in the early afternoon. Vernal Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a Domestic Violence incident at approximately 8:40am.
