The schedule for repairs to Steinaker Dam were outlined on Wednesday at the Water Conference held in Vernal. Bureau of Reclamation representative Spencer Strand presented the overview, stating that the objective is to restore full function and balance the responsibility to deliver water but in a safe way.

The Uintah Basin now has its own cadet squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. The Civil Air Patrol, or CAP, is an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force that includes a cadet program of 24,000 youth across the county that learn to assist the senior CAP members in disaster relief, search and rescue and even receive some aerospace education. 

Roosevelt City administration and citizens are excited about the increase in communication offered by the recently launched Roosevelt City website. The January City Council meeting was live streamed on the website, adding a huge dose of convenience for citizens eager to keep informed but not in a position to attend in person.
